Furnace Operator

2nd shift available

Job Purpose

To melt, refine, assay and fabricate silver to ensure quality purification and production of precious metals. Starting pay: $15-$18/hr. 

• Verify inventory weights
• Melt, sample and refine precious metal
• Hand fabricate purified silver products  
• Follow and meet the production schedule
• Maintain quality standards
• Complete documentation
• Ensure safe operation of gas-fired and induction melting furnaces
• Properly use, operate and maintain machinery to reduce downtime
• Complete maintenance request forms

• Plant experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Basic computer experience
• Well organized, multi-tasker and good with time management in high pressure situations
• Ability to lift 50+lbs. for extended periods of time
• Able to handle exposure to extreme heats
• Ability to be versatile
• Experience in safety program a plus  
• Mechanical abilities a plus
• Forklift experience a plus
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check is required
